October's Book: The Host

What a great night! Thanks to everyone that came! Those of you that could not make it, we missed you and hope that you will come to the next meeting in November! The book we have decided to read for October is: The Host by Stephanie Meyer.

Here is the synopsis that I copied from barnesandnoble.com

Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring a vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.

You can reserve a copy of the book at the library by going to the Contra Costa Library Website log in by using your library card number and last name and reserve a copy. Unfortunately an electronic copy is not available for this book but I was able to reserve a copy on CD.

With the holidays approaching we need to have a good plan of attack for when we are going to meet. Please post when you will be available in November so we can all get together! Happy reading! Have a good month!
